Concrete Grinding and Epoxy Coating Project at 8/251 Lincoln Road, Henderson

Client Overview:

Location: 8/251 Lincoln Road, Henderson

Scope: Concrete grinding and application of a 3-coat epoxy system using Mapefloor System 32 to restore a heavily stained and damaged floor.

Project Summary:

FlooringPro was tasked with restoring the severely stained and rough concrete floor at the property on Lincoln Road, Henderson. The floor was in poor condition, unsuitable for its intended use, requiring extensive grinding and a durable, chemical-resistant, and slip-resistant finish. FlooringPro used the Mapefloor System 32, a solvent-free multi-layer epoxy system designed for high-performance industrial floors. This system not only rejuvenated the floor but provided enhanced durability, slip resistance, and chemical resistance.

Objectives:

  • Grinding: Smooth out rough surfaces and remove deep stains to prepare the floor for the epoxy application.
  • Epoxy Coating: Apply a three-coat Mapefloor System 32, finished in light grey, to create a fresh, durable surface that is slip-resistant and chemically resistant.

Challenges:

  • Extensive Surface Damage and Stains: The floor's rough condition required multiple rounds of grinding to achieve the desired smoothness.
  • Durability Requirements: The client needed a high-performance coating to withstand industrial traffic, chemical exposure, and ensure a non-slip finish.

Solution Implementation:

  • Concrete Grinding: The floor was ground to remove stains and imperfections, ensuring a smooth surface for the epoxy system.
  • Mapefloor System 32: A 3-coat process was applied:
    • Primer Coat: Primer SN was applied, followed by quartz sand to create a strong bond.
    • Intermediate Coat: Mapefloor I 300 SL mixed with quartz enhanced durability and provided a slip-resistant texture.
    • Finishing Coat: A final layer of Mapefloor I 300 SL in light grey provided a seamless, slip-resistant, and chemically resistant finish.

Client Interaction:

Throughout the project, the client was kept informed of the progress and was involved in the selection of the epoxy color and finish. The application process, including the three-layer system, was explained in detail to ensure alignment with the client's expectations.

Results:

  • Floor Transformation: The heavily stained and rough floor was completely transformed into a brand-new surface. The light grey finish of the epoxy coating not only improved the aesthetics but also provided a durable, slip-resistant, and chemical-resistant surface.
  • Enhanced Durability: The application of the Mapefloor System 32 ensured that the floor could withstand industrial use, heavy foot traffic, and exposure to chemicals, making it ideal for the client's needs.

Conclusion:

The project at 8/251 Lincoln Road, Henderson, successfully demonstrated FlooringPro’s expertise in transforming severely damaged floors using the Mapefloor System 32. This high-performance epoxy system provided a new, slip-resistant, and chemical-resistant surface that exceeded the client’s expectations, ensuring long-lasting durability and a visually appealing finish.
